Information for our customers about WWF's latest assessment of Swedish rainbow trout and how we are moving forward.
Dear customers,
We would like to inform you that WWF, in its latest seafood guide, has rated Swedish rainbow trout yellow. The decision surprised us, but we take WWF’s assessment very seriously.
We have contacted WWF to obtain the material behind the assessment, so that we can better understand the challenges identified – particularly relating to feed, environmental impact and animal welfare. Our production follows strict sustainability principles, and we farm our rainbow trout in clean, cold Nordic water.
We would welcome WWF sharing its evidence base to make its assessments clearer. Sustainability is a cornerstone of our business, and we are constantly working to improve our methods and the quality of our products.
